Messages used to be sent in bottles, but now a coffee company has come up with another way of sending out missives with a drinking-related theme.
The new device enables texts messages to operate a new robotic espresso machine – and that’s not all.
Part of those text messages can be printed on the espresso foam.
Impressive hey?
The company responsible for this idea is named Zipwhip.
However, the text-operated robotic machine is not one which is available on the general market, but rather an idea which is a kind of promotion.
However, the company has also posted some information online, incase some people are so interested or taken by the idea that they decide to have a go at recreating the idea for themselves.
This has taken the idea of latte art to another level – just as there are latte art competitions, this latest idea triggers other thoughts in our minds.
We have seen sophisticated drawings and images of art atop our lattes – even the local coffee shop often creates a wonderful pattern on their signature drinks.
The wonderful latte dog above was apparently done by hand! With thanks to Caffe Society for use of the photo.
But could we take this further?
What about little haiku messages on top of coffee?
Or words to ponder on?
Coffee has long been seen as a drink which is associated with thought and lively minds – the first coffee shops were dubbed penny universities after all – and so perhaps there is more to this idea than a marketing one.
However, for the time being this novelty gadget is impressing geeks and bloggers who are delighted with the innovative and creative minds behind the creation.
